This repository contains the code for the Brocade Nova Listener Python Package. The listener listens to nova events and updates the brocade virtual load balancer vm instances in the device inventory database. Pre-requisite ============= - Install pysubnettree python module a. wget https://pypi.python.org/packages/source/p/pysubnettree/pysubnettree-0.23.tar.gz b. gunzip pysubnettree-0.23.tar.gz, untar the tar file, cd to the directory c. Run "python setup.py install" to install pysubnettree - Install Brocade Neutron LBaaS Device Driver Python Package. Please refer to install instructions under https://github.com/brocade-vadx/adx-device-driver Install Instructions ==================== - Download and install the Brocade Nove Listener Python Package Code - From a temporary location, run "git clone https://github.com/brocade-vadx/brocade_adx_inventory_listener.git" - Change directory ("cd brocade_adx_inventory_listener") - Run "sudo python setup.py install" - Edit /etc/neutron/services/loadbalancer/brocade/brocade_nova_listener.ini file as per your configuration - Modify the nova.conf to have the following changes [DEFAULT] notification_topics=brcd notify_on_state_change=vm_state notification_driver=nova.openstack.common.notifier.rpc_notifier - Restart nova-conductor, nova-scheduler,nova-api, nova-compute - Run "brocade_nova_listener &" from the command prompt. - Brocade Nova Listener logs the messages in <log_dir>/"brocade_nova_listener.log" file. The <log_dir> and <log_level> are specified in the "/etc/neutron/services/loadbalancer/brocade/brocade_nova_listener.ini" file.
