--------------------------------------------------------------------- Currently, to build Sorts Mill fonts using Sorts Mill Tools 2.x.x, you must use a ‘recent enough’ commit of Sorts Mill Tools and configure it with the --enable-legacy-sortsmill-tools configure flag. Use the source tarballs: https://bitbucket.org/sortsmill/sortsmill-fonts/downloads/sortsmill-fanwood-1.1.tar.bz2 https://bitbucket.org/sortsmill/sortsmill-fonts/downloads/sortsmill-lindenhill-1.2.tar.bz2 https://bitbucket.org/sortsmill/sortsmill-fonts/downloads/sortsmill-gb1911-2010.07.03.tar.bz2 https://bitbucket.org/sortsmill/sortsmill-fonts/downloads/sortsmill-goudy-3.1.tar.bz2 https://bitbucket.org/sortsmill/sortsmill-fonts/downloads/sortsmill-prociono-2.3.tar.bz2 You should apply the patches in https://bitbucket.org/sortsmill/sortsmill-fonts/downloads/patches-to-build-fonts-with-sortsmill-tools-2.x.x.tar.bz2 using commands like ‘bzip2 -d < path/to/patch-file.patch.bz2 | patch -Np1’. Then do the usual GNU Autotools stuff, such as: ./configure --enable-truetype make -j9 --------------------------------------------------------------------- * What follows are old instructions, for building fonts with George * * Williams’ ‘FontForge’ program. Follow them at your own risk. * To build Sorts Mill fonts from Mercurial or Git sources, using the original FontForge, first go into the 'tools' directory and install the Sorts Mill Tools 0.4, using something like autoreconf --install make make install Then, if the desired fonts are far enough along in development, go into the appropriate directory and once again do something like autoreconf --install make make install If the desired fonts are not that far along, then I don't know what you should do. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------
