=== Quick build === wget https://github.com/bulletphysics/bullet3/archive/2.83.5.zip unzip 2.83.5.zip cd bullet3-2.83.5 mkdir build cd build cmake .. -G "Unix Makefiles" -DINSTALL_LIBS=ON -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=/usr/local make -j 4 make install cd ../.. cd pybullet python setup.py build_ext --include-dirs /usr/local/include/bullet --library-dirs /usr/local/lib The only file you need for python is bullet.so (e.g. build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.7/bullet/bullet.so) which can be copied to the application's lib dir. You can also use normal python install commands such as "python setup.py install" or if you're using pip, "pip install -I .". About ===== PyBullet is a Python wrapper of the Bullet Physics library. Build ===== Building PyBullet requires Bullet Physics headers and libraries. If these are in the default search path on your platform, then a simple distutils build command should succeed: $ python setup.py build If they are elsewhere, you can specify their location with the --include-dirs and --library-dirs command line options: $ python setup.py build_ext --include-dirs /path/to/includes \ --library-dirs /path/to/libraries Install ======= You can install PyBullet using the normal distutils install command: $ python setup.py install Documentation ============= To learn how to use PyBullet, there are several resources available: - The Python API documentation for the bullet package - The programs in the PyBullet demos/ directory PyBullet attempts to be a very thin wrapper around the Bullet Physics C++ API. This means that much of the Bullet Physics documentation is useful in learning and understanding PyBullet: - The Bullet Physics API documentation: http://bulletphysics.com/Bullet/BulletFull/ - The Bullet Physics User Manual: http://bulletphysics.com/ftp/pub/test/physics/Bullet_User_Manual.pdf Bugs ==== Please report bugs at https://bugs.launchpad.net/pybullet
