INTRODUCTION
------------

This package was developed to find and copy "mp4" and "mkv" files cached by 
DivX Web Player when streaming online content. The application itself is not 
too complex too use and as a result may look even too simple for some.

Don't be mistaken though, it does exactly what it says it does and does it in
a simple and easy to understand way.

INSTALLATION
------------

a) Source Installation
Source installation is a bit complex and is not really recommended unless
you know what you are doing and are willing to go through setting up some
development environment first.

   i) Dependenceis
	 - Qt Framework
	 - PyQt API Framework
	 - Python 2.7 (did not test it on earlier or later version but there should
	   be no reason why this source wouldn't work with Python 2.6 or newer)
	 - py2app - only required if you intend to build a stand alone application
	   yourself
	 - macports - same reason as for py2app
	 
	 PY2APP has some issues when trying to create a standalone Mac OS X app.
	 Major problem happens if you try to use the default Python Framework to
	 create an application as for some reason default framework does not 
	 deal with library dependencies properly. Libaries are not included in
	 the resulting Application making it impossible to distribute them to 
	 people that do not want to install every single dependency themselves,
	 which in my opinion is very much valid choice.
	 
	 However, custom built Python Frameworks (don't mistake this with custom
	 build Python installation from source) do not have this problem and I
	 have opted for 'macports' and I used macports v2.0.4.
	 
	 There are a number of ports that you will need to install into macports but
	 here are few that I used to create my own development environment. Next to
	 each port there is a command to install it into macports and that command
	 assumes you have a right to write into macports directory. If not, you can
	 prepend 'sudo' to the command if you have sudo access on your system:
	 * python27         -   port install python27
	 * py27-macholib    -   port install py27-macholib
	 * py27-sip         -   port install py27-sip
	 * py27-pyqt4       -   port install py27-pyqt4
	 * py27-py2app      -   port install py27-py2app
	 * py27-pyqt        -   port -v install py27-pyqt    (used verbose option here)
	 * python_select    -   port install python_select
	
	After this all you have to do is go to the source directory of this package
	and run: 'python crvideo.pyw' to run your application
	
	
b) Distribution Installation

   Note: The crvideo.app was built on OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and has 
   been tested successfully on a number of 10.6.8 machines that did not 
   have the build environment setup. However, I cannot guarantee that this 
   will work on Leopard or Lion versions of OS X.

   The only bad thing about this is the size of the actual application. 
   Unfortunately not much could have been done to reduce the size of this 
   because it was the first time I developed in PyQt and distribution needed to
   be standalone. Might tweek this at a later stage to not include libraries 
   not used by this application.

   Very simple:
    i) download 'crvideo.app' from this github repository
   ii) Copy it to whatever destination you want on your system
       - You can drag it onto your Dock as well
   
   That is it. Launch it as you would any other application
   

DOCUMENTATION

a) Configuration
   This application uses a configuration which is stored in $HOME/.crvideo JSON file.
   You do not have to create it, it will be created first time the application is
   launched with default values. However, every time you change the configuration
   that file will get updated. You can if you wish modify the file manuall, but you
   will have to adhere to the syntax for the application to work.
   
   '.crvideo' file is of the following form:

   It only has two 'keys':
   * sourcedirs - the value for this data structure has to be a list of all the
   directories you want this application to search for MP4 or MKV files. List is
   enclosed in a pair of square brackets ([]) and individual directories are separated
   by a comma. In the example above, "/private/var/folders" is a valid directory, at
   least on my machine, but the "/opt/local/divxcache" is just made up for
   demonstration purposes.
   
   * destdir - the value for this data structure is a single directory indicating
   where you want to save the files that this application found.
   

b) Using CRVIDEO
   When you launch the application you will be presented with a simple Dialog like
   application interfaces. On launch, CRVIDEO will perform a search using either
   current configuration you have or default configuration if the former is missing.
   
   The main portion of the application window will contain a list view of all the 
   files that the application found. Next to that list you will have a number of 
   buttons:
   i)   Copy - copy the file to your destination folder
   ii)  Move - move the file to your destination folder
   iii) Config - Launch the configuration dialog where you can change your source
        destination folder options
        
   -- Configuration Dialog --
   This part of the application warrants a little mention here. This Dialog interface
   allows you to modify the current configuration for CRVIDEO. It allows you to add
   new directory to the current list of source directories and it allows you to change
   where you want your files saved.
   
   I think the interface will be self explanatory but I will quickly mention just one
   thing. Each time you modify the configuration it will be automatically saved only
   when you press 'OK' button in the configuration window. Canceling will cancel every
   modification.
