Challenge Name : POLAR OPPOSITES

Description

Design a data analysis and/or visualization tool to show the spatial and temporal changes in Arctic and Antarctic ice to a general audience. Data analysis of the antartic west peninsula to create a crunch ice model. We take data from the west peninsula in the antartic pole, specifically from the larsen C where recently a huge iceberg is being formed, the A68. In an attempt to build a model of the speed up of ice cycle in that region we use a linear regression on the statistics of fixed points.

Objective

This module was development to Monitoring areas where future subdivisions occur.

Linear model

We take ice temperature an ice thinning indices and combine them with data of the ice speed. This data is filtered within the coordinates of the larsen C. The model considers the a linear regression taken fixed points in the region averaged in the last 4 years to create a index of ice deattachment risk.

We ground the selection of data in the model of ice speed developed by [1]:
