Verifies you are on track to succeed at your Beeminder goals.
Beelint inspects your goals for "violations" which today means goals which are currently due on a day that is bad/wrong/inconvienent. For example, some goals are weekends only and some days you are on vacation. Beelint will complain about these problems before you are actually having an eep! day, so you won't derail on your goals.
Today Beelint offers two main violation types: day-of-week (date_pattern
) and Google Calendar (calendar_pattern
). Some examples of the capabilities can be found in example_config
.
- Clone this repo.
- Fill in
secrets.py
with your info. The Google Calendar API step is optional. - Compile
config.proto
withprotoc -I=. --python_out=. config.proto
. - Fill in
config
according to your needs. There are some examples inexample_config
. If you want the nuts and bolts you can refer toconfig.proto
itself. - Integrate with Beeminder by creating a Beelint goal (whose slug must match your setting for
lint_goalname
). The goal should be a whittle-down (inboxer
) goal with a rate of 0. - Integrate with Beedash (https://github.com/DrTall/beedash) by specifying
BEELINT_GOAL_NAME
in your Beedashsecrets.py
file. - Run
beelint.py
as a cron on your system.
