AirNotifier is an application server for apple push notification service, users and resources management, it's a strong and generic backend for iOS apps.
APNs requires a certification to set up SSL connection, we needs multi server instances without sharing certification file with all peers under certain circumstances, AirNotifier works as a push notification forwarder, each peer sends notification requests to it, it setup the SSL connection and forward notification to application notification server.
airnotifier.conf is the config file, options:
- pemdir: The directory storing APNS certificate
- passwordsalt: passwordsalt
- masterdb: MongoDB database name
- dbprefix: MongoDB collection name prefix, this will be used to create object data collection
- Generic backend for iOS app (Users, resources management) in the Cloud
- Restful API allows providers to send notification through straightforward restful interface
- Access key management
- Logging activities
- Non-blocking API design allows master provider to handle large loads of request smoothly
