sedfitting-ysos

Software package for identifying and modeling young stellar objects with mid-infrared excess emission by fitting infrared SED with the models of Robitaille et al. (2017).

This package currently consists of a custom IDL library (pro directory), a couple of custom python wrapper modules for Tom Robitaille's sedfitter, and a set of data analysis recipes.

The IDL library has been verified using IDL 8.7.1 and requires the IDL Astronomy User's Library and idl-coyote library.

These pipelines have been tested on python 3.6 and 3.7 with no adverse effects.

Getting started

  • If you need to identify a set of candidate YSOs in a region of the sky surveyed by Spitzer/WISE, 2MASS and (optionally) UKIRT/VVV, see the step-by-step instructions and explanations included with this package in recipes/find_ysoc_procedure.md.
  • If you already have a list of candidate YSOs to classify, see recipes/sedfitting_procedure_ysos.md. (This is the option to use if you have already completed the sedfitting_procedure_xpms pipeline from the companion sedfitting-phrds repo.
