Dependencies

Kanban requires Python 2.6+ and has the following Ubuntu package dependencies:

  • python-commandant
  • python-jinja2
  • python-launchpadlib
  • python-testtools (to run the test suite)
  • python-twisted (to run the test suite)

The python-commandant package is available from a PPA:

Using Kanban

Run the following command to learn how to use Kanban in more detail:

bin/kanban help tutorial | less

Developing Kanban

Development can be done by installing the packages above but it's probably easier to use PIP in a virtualenv. You need to install virtualenvwrapper and virtualenv and then run the following commands:

mkvirtualenv kanban
make build check

At this point all the tests should have run and passed and you should be ready to hack on the code.
