- focus of project is on hardware, assembler, virtual machine emulator
- .jack file - contains program in the jack language which is the high level language of the hack computer
- .asm file - contains the jack syntax translated into assembly machine language
- .hack file - contains instructions from asm file translated into binary form - both A and C instructions
- Hardware and Software can be connected using the CPU Emulator Tool
