README for zelfratz

intro
-----

'Zelfratz' is a tool to monitor artists and labels via the digital-tunes api. It
is written entirely in python. The name was chosen as it was the first word i
came up with that returned no results on google.

usage
-----

Usage: zelfratz.py [options]

Options:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -k APIKEY, --apikey=APIKEY
                        file that contains the api key
  -a ARTISTS, --artists=ARTISTS
                        file that contains a list of artists
  -l LABELS, --labels=LABELS
                        file that contains a list of labels
  -c CACHE_FILE, --cache=CACHE_FILE
                        file to use as cache
  -d, --debug           output debugging information
  -v, --version,        print version and exit

I use it to send me daily update emails.

how-2
-----

By default, zelfratz config files and cache are in ~/.zelfratz.

You will need to get an api-key from digital tunes:

http://www.digital-tunes.net/affiliates/new

Store this in the file:

~/.zelfratz/api-key

Now add artists and labels you like into the following two files:

~/.zelfratz/artists
~/.zelfratz/labels

You can now run zelfratz, it will query digital tunes, output the results to
stdout and store them in the file:

~/.zelfratz/cache

To receive daily updates,  i use the follwing script as a cronjob:

PATH-TO/zelfratz.py | mutt -s "daily updates " -e "set \
from=zelfratz@YOURDOMAIN.COM" -e "set realname=zelfratz" \
TARGETNAME@YOURDOMAIN.COM
