Each benchmark has to be build and executed in a different way. The input set is available for the following benchmarks:
- pmd
- lusearch
- luindex
- avrora
- jython
- xalan
pmd benchmark has to be build before using the "custom" input set. benchmarks/bms/pmd/pmd.cnf file describes the configuration file for pmd. custom size and its arguments are described in this file. "@pmd/rvm.lst" describes the path of lst file which contains the paths of java files to be parsed. benchmarks/bms/pmd/data/pmd/rvm.lst is the file describing path of java files to be parsed. benchmarks/bms/pmd/data/pmd/testsrc/net/pmd/net/sourceforge/pmd/rvm/src/org/jikesrvm contains all the java files to be parsed.
To execute pmd run
cd benchmarks/
ant pmd
java -jar dacapo.jar pmd -s custom
pmd can be run with already compiled dacapo benchmarks. dacapo/cnf/pmd.cnf
is the configuration file. Arguments for custom size are present in this file. The archive dacapo/dat/pmd.zip contains the java source files to be processed and the rvm.lst file listing these source file paths. The argument "@pmd/rvm.lst" refers to this list.
To execute pmd run
cd dacapo
java Harness readme -s custom
luindex can be accessed through already compiled dacapo benchmarks. dacapo/cnf/luindex.cnf is the configuration file of luindex. Arguments for custom size "luindex/scammell", "luindex/galaxy" are present in dacapo/data/luindex.zip.
To execute luindex run
cd dacapo
java Harness luindex -s custom
Similar to luindex, lusearch can be executed from compiled dacapo files. dacapo/cnf/lusearch.cnf is the configuration file of lusearch. Arguments for custom size are present in dacapo/scratch/lusearch/index-custom. These files were generated using luindex's custom size.
TODO: Add how to generate segments file using luindex
xalan benchmark can be executed from compiled dacapo files. xalan transforms a set of XML files. Unfortunately, there is no way to express different XML files as arguments to xalan. Hence, there is no custom input size here. Add more XML files in dacapo/data/xalan.zip/xalan. A few JikesRVM's XML files have already been added there. These are build.xml, base.xml.
avrora benchmark can be executed from compiled dacapo files. AVRORA is a simulation and analysis framework for AVR microcontrollers. avrora benchmark takes elf
files as input. These files can be found in dacapo/dat/avrora.zip/test/tinyos
. dacapo/cnf/avrora.cnf
is the configuration file for this benchmark. There are two custom input sizes, custom
and large
. New input sizes can be created by adding other elf
files in the input sizes. To execute avrora:
cd dacapo
java Harness avrora -s custom
