Configure a Plone site to link to a Dropbox account (via control panel).

Specify that one or more folders within the Plone site should syncronise with Dropbox (via 'dropbox' tab).

Specify whether sub-folders should also sync with Dropbox.

When a new file is added to the folder/sub-folder in Plone it is syncronised to Dropbox (with the relevant folder/sub-folder being created and 'linked' to the Plone folder by UID system).

Plone regularly checks Dropbox for new external files and folders (using clockserver). Any new files/folders are automatically created in the relvant folder in Plone.

Intially only ATFolder and ATFile-based content is supported.

Plone folder and file icons are similar to those on Dropbox desktop interface - indicating unsynced/syncing/synced.
